Hempstead, NY 11549-1000 ChallengeThis large university was in search of a single solution to help publish a variety of academic bulletins both in print and on the Internet. Existing processes for publishing were rapidly becoming cumbersome with the need to deliver this critical information via multiple communications media. Hofstra also was looking for a solution in which the publications staff members could maintain control of bulletin information without adding additional demands on the institution's busy IT department. Whatever the solution, a high level of security and reliability were critical. |
SolutionWorking with IT management at Hofstra, Digital Architecture was able to design and configure a hosting provision that met the demanding requirements of the university, both from a security and reliability standpoint. The Hofstra installation of the acalog ACMS™ resides on a system with redundant internet connectivity, redundant servers and a protocol-isolated database server with RAID technology — all managed by Digital Architecture technicians. Transition of Hofstra's bulletins into the acalog ACMS™ is currently underway, with a launch scheduled before the end of 2004. In addition to the undergraduate and graduate schools at the university, Hofstra University School of Law has also selected to utilize the ACMS™ to manage its academic bulletins. |
