Northwestern College logo.ORANGE CITY, Iowa—Northwestern College is the newest institution to choose Digital Architecture's acalog Academic Content Management System (ACMS)™ to manage its catalog and provide an interactive online catalog.

"Having acalog gives us a more dynamic catalog presence on the Web," says Northwestern Registrar Charlie Couch. "It's a great investment that allows us to manage catalog information through a database system. Now when a change is made to a program requirement or course title, for example, that change is made automatically throughout the entire catalog."

With acalog, website visitors will have access to both the current version of Northwestern's catalog as well as archived past catalogs. They will be able to use keywords to locate programs and courses, search policies and other information contained in the catalog, and find a specific course by its prefix or number. Links from the online catalog to relevant pages on the college's website will provide additional information about academics at Northwestern.

Acalog also gives users the ability to save favorite programs and courses in a personal space they can access whenever they like; to share program interests with others, such as parents; and to give their college adviser permission to contact them about the contents of their portfolio. Northwestern faculty and staff, meanwhile, can make catalog revisions online through a secure and convenient publishing portal that supports Internet, print and CD-ROM versions of the catalog.

Founded in 1882, Northwestern College combines academic rigor with a Christian perspective for an education that earns top-10 honors in U.S. News & World Report's annual college rankings. A Northwestern education emphasizes the development of the whole person—mind, body and spirit—in a caring, Christ-centered community.

Affiliated with the Reformed Church in America, Northwestern is located in Orange City, Iowa. The college has an enrollment of 1,315 students from 30 states and 21 countries and an academic program that includes more than 40 majors and numerous opportunities for off-campus study.
